Compared to the vintage units the Vahlbruch Phaser has plenty of useful controls. First there is a 'Depth' control implemented. Together with the 'Speed' knob you can adjust a huge variety of different phasing sounds. It's a highly flexible pedal and the range of modulation sounds is very, very wide. Additionally, there is a Volume control, which is called 'Mix'. This knob enables you to balance the phaser pedal output volume with the original bypassed instrument signal.
The effect pedal can also be used as a buffer and discreet booster with or without phasing effect. Simply turn the 'Depth'-control to minimum and adjust the 'Mix' knob to the desired output level. You can place the Vahlbruch Phaser stompbox before or after distortion pedals, in front of your amp or in the effect loop.
Thanks to its extremely large signal-to-noise ratio the Vahlbruch Phaser shows extremely low background noise and is therefore suited for any studio work and professional live performance. The pedal has a true bypass switch for perfect signal transfer without any tone loss. A blue LED shows you the on / off status.
The Phaser pedal has no (!) pcb-mounted jacks, no (!) pcb-mounted footswitches and no (!) pcb-mounted pots! This is a bit more expensive and time consuming while building the pedal, but it's truly worth in terms of reliability and maintenance! Like all Vahlbruch pedals the Phaser is hand-made utilizing only the best components available worldwide for high-end tone and years of trouble free operation.
