Fulltone Mas Malo

The Fulltone Mas Malo comes with three matched NOS BC184C transistors that give the pedal an extremely wide range of possible sounds. From Jimmy Page crunch styles to singing Gilmour leads to screaming, compressed fuzz sounds with virtually endless sustain even at low levels. The midrange gives the Mas Malo a defined sound, which is very successful on the stage and in the band context.

The combination of high input impedance and low output impedance guarantee that the pedal perfectly harmonizes with other effects. The Color Knob is a is a unique tone control panning from rich warm sounds all the way to Trebly Fuzztones. The heat knob controls the bias of the first transistor and thus has a great influence on the voicing of the pedal.

Fulltone OCD V2

The Fulltone 'Obsessive Compulsive Drive' (OCD) has been designed to emulate the sound, the dynamics and the harmonics of a fully-driven tube amplifier with its typical output stage distortion. By turning back the volume control of the guitar, dozens of other sounds are available.

After over 12 years, the OCD V2 now comes with a completely improved and renewed version. The pedal comes with two switchable bypass modes (True Bypass and Enhanced Bypass) as well as an integrated buffer, which protects the circuit against the unwanted effects of other pedals. This keeps the sound defined and clear even with complex effect setups, loopers and large pedalboards. In addition, the buffer has a positive influence on the sound and provides more sustain in the signal and in the overtones.

The input section of the OCD V2 has been adapted to give the pedal more dynamics and further improve the interaction with humbuckers and single coil pickups.

EarthQuaker Devices Terminal V2

The EarthQuaker Devices Terminal fuzz is a blown out, busted and all around destructive fuzz device modeled after the old JAX fuzz. The JAX fuzz is a re-branded Shin Ei Companion fuzz that is well loved for its buzzy sound. The Terminal takes this design three steps further by allowing control over the gain, fine tuning of the EQ and a massive adjustable volume boost. The Voice controls the upper and lower mid range determining the over all frequency response while the Treble adjusts the biting top end. EarthQuaker Devices Dunes V2

The Earthquaker Devices Dunes is a condensed version of the brands highly popular Palisades; a heavily featured take on the classic 808 overdrive. It features the same Gain, Tone and Level controls along with our favorite voice and bandwidth settings as well as the “Normal/Bright” toggle. The selectable voices are: “Mosfet” for a tight crunchy sound, “Silicon” for the classic 808 sound and “None” which goes from clean boost to gritty, pure opamp distortion with a massive volume boost.

The two bandwidth settings are “stock” for the classic tone and “full range” for more low end). The Dunes has all the great tone of the big boy Palisades but with a simplified interface and a smaller footprint.

EarthQuaker Devices Hoof V2

The Hoof from EarthQuaker Devices is a no-fuss, easy to use device capable of sounds from warm, gritty overdrive to a huge sustaining fuzz. It's a germanium / silicon hybrid muff style fuzz (based on the old green russian muff) with massive amounts of volume on tap and smooth amp-like sustain. It has a tighter, cleaner sound than most muff's which makes it more cutting and discernible in a band setting. The shift control changes the frequency response of the tone control, mainly on the treble side (but takes out the mud on the bass side). Clockwise scoops the mids and counterclockwise enhances the mids. When the shift control is set dead center it has roughly the same frequency response as the original 3 knob hoof (almost flat).

The Hoof V2 features a silent, relay-based soft-touch footswitch.

EarthQuaker Devices Sea Machine V3

The Sea Machine V3 is a chorus pedal with ultimate control over parameters rarely seen in a chorus. A hybrid of digital and analog circuitry with a slightly extended delay time allows it to really stand out and shimmer.

The heart of the Sea Machine is a short digital delay line, which features controls for Animation, Dimension and Depth. The Animation allows control over the delay time, Dimension adjusts the amount of spatial regeneration and the Depth adjust the mix of the modulated wet signal against the dry analog signal. The LFO section of the Sea Machine is comprised of Rate, Intensity and Shape. The Rate adjusts the speed of the oscillator, the Intensity adjusts how much the LFO modulates the delayed signal and the Shape transforms the wave from a soft triangle to a hard square wave.

With this mix of standard and unique controls, everything from subtle warble, classic Leslie, seasick pitch bends to strangled alien sounds, stunted arpeggiations and many more far out sounds are on tap. The Sea Machine also was designed to work well following fuzz, distortion or overdrive without getting muddy, reducing volume or breaking up. When engaged, the transparent buffer leaves the all-analog dry signal unaltered and crystal clear. The Sea Machine is true bypass and made by human hands with the highest quality parts in shimmering Akron, Ohio.

EarthQuaker Devices Ghost Echo V3

The EarthQuaker Devices Ghost Echo Reverb is designed to emulate a vintage reverb unit. It's capable of providing a little atmosphere all the way through to vast depths. The attack control sets the delay of the initial pick attack on the wet signal only. When playing staccato this registers as a slap back type echo hitting the reverb but when playing fluid lines it adds a massive depth and 'fattens' up the sound. The dwell control is a fine tune function that enhances the decay. At first it may seem like it's not there but back it off and you’ll miss it. The depth controls the intensity of the reverb.

The Ghost Echo V3 features a silent, relay-based soft-touch footswitch and upgraded op-amps for better performance and lower noise. The recalibrated Dwell control is capable of self-oscillations when the knob is turned all the way up.

The Tone Job from EarthQuaker Devices is a complete tone enhancement tool designed around a stereo preamp to cover as much frequency range as possible. Walrus Audio Iron Horse V2 Distortion

The Walrus Audio Iron Horse is a return to the classic distortion: thick, punchy, riffy and rowdy. The stompbox is full of high gain and perfectly made for the rock guitarist in need of thick rhythm or cutting solos. Dial back the gain and it can be used as a thick, warm overdrive. The Iron Horse effect pedal has three distortion modes operated by a toggle switch that changes between different clipping diodes providing more versatility in shaping the tone of the distortion.

J. Rockett Audio Designs IQ Compressor

If there’s one thing that’s missing from the modern compressor world, it’s EQ. Rockett’s IQ compressor fills in this gap by running the EQ before the compression circuit, the compressor will emphasize and then compress these specific bands at levels you set. The IQ’s compression engine is a finely tweaked example of the circuit family, with pre set attack and release amounts expertly dialed in beforehand.

Your controls are Volume and Mix, where Volume exists to offset the jump in volume caused by an increase in wet-dry ratio. Other than that, Mix is all you get, and Mix is all you need. The six bands present in the EQ section are 100Hz, 200Hz, 400hZ, 800Hz, 1.5KHz and 3.2KHz. Because these are placed before the compression engine, you can choose just how much of each band you want compressed, for a fully immersive compression experience. This is extremely handy for bass players or players who assigned to strictly “rhythm” or “lead” roles, letting you accentuate and then squish the frequency ranges you most likely find yourself in, while lending a smooth gloss to the rest.

Each band on the IQ contains an 18dB boost or cut, with center being flat, for an ultra-powerful push in whichever frequency band you like. With the Blend control all the way down, the iQ turns into a juicy EQ pedal with a volume boost as well.

Robert Keeley took the lessons he learned from building his Dark Side Fuzz to make the Rotten Apple quieter and gnarlier than any off the shelf vintage fuzz.

The Rotten Apple is dynamically sensitive dialed back yet authentically aggressive on blast, so whether you're strumming chords or octuple-tracking solos, this pedal is primed to please with 90's aggressioneering. A 3-way Tone toggle provides endless options for midrange shaping. After exhaustive testing and research, Robert Keeley determined that alt-rock's most iconic fuzz pedal must have been a silver-boxed V4, the op-amp version, and so modeled the tones in his Rotten Apple after that vintage box.
